KNA Certification of ISO 9001 for the Project Management Board of Northern Power Construction - a Branch of Northern Power Corporation

Originating from the scale and responsibilities of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) regarding the task and role in ensuring electricity supply and constructing investment projects in the power grid to meet the needs of socioeconomic development at the local level, on April 24, 2020, the Northern Power Corporation issued Decision No. 111/QD-HDTV to establish the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction (NPCPCM). The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) is a leading enterprise in the field of electricity business and distribution, information technology business, and various other manufacturing sectors across 27 provinces and cities in the Northern region.

KNA CERT is honored to award the ISO 9001 certificate to the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction, a branch of the Northern Power Corporation.

The establishment of the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction marks the remarkable growth and development of the Northern Power Corporation, in line with the scale and stature of the Corporation among the distribution companies within the Vietnam Electricity Group.

• The Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction carries out the following functions and tasks:
• Manage projects under the management of EVNNPC and act as the investor in accordance with legal regulations.
• Perform the role of an investor for each project using budgetary funds, state funds, and other specified non-budgetary sources.
• Receive and manage the use of funds for investment in construction in accordance with legal regulations.
• Carry out consultancy activities, including project management, investment project preparation, bidding, budgeting for investment projects, organizing land clearance compensation, supervising the construction of power grid projects, and other assigned projects.
• The Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction is responsible for fulfilling all tasks and authorities in managing investment projects and construction projects as prescribed by law and guidelines from relevant ministries, sectors, and the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction approved and issued by EVNNPC.
• Accept the delegation of project management from other investors through signed project management delegation contracts.
• Perform other functions and tasks as the investor at the delegated level and assigned by EVNNPC.

After a period of implementing ISO 9001, the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction, a branch of the Northern Power Corporation, decided to choose KNA CERT as the certification evaluation unit for ISO 9001.

KNA CERT, licensed by the General Department of Standards, Metrology, and Quality under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is authorized to grant certification for Quality Management Systems according to the international standard ISO 9001:2015. Additionally, KNA Cert is recognized by the Vietnam Bureau of Accreditation (BOA), a member signatory to the mutual recognition arrangement (MLA) of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). This recognition affirms KNA Cert's competence to conduct assessments and certify Quality Management Systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 & ISO/IEC 17021-3:2017. KNA Cert has been assigned the registration number VICAS 059 – QMS. Therefore, ISO 9001:2015 certificates directly issued by KNA CERT hold full legal value and are globally recognized.

On December 21, 2021, at the headquarters of the Project Management Board for Northern Power Construction, a branch of the Northern Power Corporation, representatives of KNA's leadership presented the ISO 9001:2015 certificate to the organization's leadership. Achieving ISO 9001 certification from KNA is evidence of ensuring the quality of services provided by the NPCPCM.
