One of the standout products of Sankei Vietnam is elastic bands. This knitted product finds wide applications in the textile industry, often used for waistbands in pants, skirts, backpacks, and handbags, among others. The elastic bands are manufactured using primarily natural rubber fibers.
To demonstrate that the elastic band products are sourced sustainably and responsibly, Sankei Vietnam has decided to adopt the PEFC-CoC standard. Applying the PEFC-CoC standard allows companies involved in the production, processing, trading, or selling of forest products to certify that their products come from sustainable and legal sources.
Additionally, Sankei Vietnam produces various types of labels used for printing information related to usage and care instructions for textile products. These labels are made from recycled materials, prompting Sankei Vietnam to adhere to another international standard, the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). GRS is a comprehensive voluntary standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, product lifecycle traceability, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.
KNA CERT is honored to be chosen by Sankei Vietnam as the partner to implement the PEFC and GRS standards for the company. KNA CERT conducted an initial assessment of the company's current status. Specifically, KNA's experts reviewed the production processes, raw material sourcing, and relevant documentation to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the company in complying with these standards.
Subsequently, KNA CERT supported Sankei Vietnam in establishing a Management System to ensure that the requirements of the PEFC-CoC and GRS standards are effectively implemented. This includes identifying and establishing procedures, instructional documents, as well as allocating suitable personnel to manage and monitor the production and raw material supply processes.
In particular, KNA CERT organized general awareness training sessions for Sankei Vietnam's staff to ensure that they have a clear understanding and adhere to the requirements of the standards. With the support of KNA, Sankei Vietnam successfully obtained PEFC and GRS certifications. This achievement has significantly contributed to the development of Sankei Vietnam.
