KNA CERT ISO 9001 Training for Southern Power Corporation
Formerly known as Electricity Company 2, in April 2010, the company underwent a re-establishment and name change to become the Southern Power Corporation, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). The Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) is a member of the Vietnam Electricity Group, responsible for managing electricity distribution from 110 kV and below and conducting electricity sales in 21 provinces and cities in the Southern region.
The organizational structure of the Corporation includes 15 functional departments, the Corporation's General Office, 20 Provincial/City Power Companies, Dong Nai Power Company Limited, Southern Power Testing Limited Liability Company, Southern Power Construction Consulting Limited Liability Company, Southern Power High Voltage Grid Company, Southern Power Project Management Board, and Southern Power Telecommunications & Information Technology Company.

To effectively implement ISO 9001, training plays a crucial role. KNA CERT is honored to be selected as the training provider for BRC (Basic Requirement Compliance) for the officials and employees of the Southern Power Corporation. The first awareness training session was organized at the location of the Ho Chi Minh City Power College. The awareness training has helped EVNSPC's officials and employees understand the basic requirements of the standard.
Correct awareness is the foundational level of the ISO 9001 implementation process. Following the awareness training, KNA experts continued to conduct internal review training and provided guidance on corrective actions according to ISO 9001:2015. The internal review process helps the unit monitor compliance with the issued processes, regulations, standards, etc., and simultaneously improve content to align with the actual situation, continuously enhancing the quality of the management system.
The training course has enabled the internal review team to master knowledge and skills derived from practical experience through various quality management system assessments at units within the Corporation. It provides specific guidance to units on crucial factors, the documentation typically required by the assessment team, and areas for improvement. This enables units to learn from experience and achieve better results in subsequent assessments.
The course has received valuable feedback and active discussions from participants. The training department has engaged in exchanges and addressed challenges and concerns encountered by units in implementing ISO 9001:2015.
With its sound development strategy, throughout its operations, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has earned numerous awards, including Independence Medals, Labor Medals, and Commendations from the Prime Minister.
