KNA collaborates with VCCI on the project
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has selected KNA CERT as its collaborating partner for the project 'Enhancing export capabilities for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Vietnamese spice, vegetable, and fruit industry.' The mission involves supporting the implementation of BRC standards (Global Standard for Food Safety).

Vegetables and spices constitute the second-largest share of Vietnam's food exports to the EU, following only coffee and tea. However, the productivity of businesses in this sector is still low and faces various challenges that hinder small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the spice and vegetable sector of Vietnam from accessing the EU market. These challenges include:
- Non-compliance with international standards and the establishment of a quality management system.
- Limited access to the EU market, coupled with few opportunities to engage with European customers.
- Ineffective mechanisms for enhancing the overall industry capacity and promoting products collectively.
- To enhance export capabilities for SMEs in the spice, vegetable, and fruit industry of Vietnam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has initiated the project 'Enhancing export capabilities for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Vietnamese spice, vegetable, and fruit industry.' This project is sponsored by the European Union in the period 2022 – 2023.

The VCCI project focuses on solutions such as:
Equipping Vietnamese Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) with essential knowledge about EU import requirements, market analysis, and trends, as well as EU buyers.
Advising on the development of strategies to access the European market, enhancing marketing capabilities through training sessions, and creating digital marketing portfolios.
Strengthening access to knowledge relevant to the needs of SMEs to assist them in making strategic decisions regarding investment, production, and marketing in compliance with international standards, especially those recognized by the EU.
Enhancing quality standards for spice, fruit, and vegetable exports from Vietnam to meet EU requirements, specifically BRC, IFS, and Fairtrade.
Supporting SMEs in expanding and strengthening connections with EU Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) enterprises and European customers through online and offline networking events.
In this regard, KNA CERT is honored to be chosen by VCCI as the training and coaching provider for SMEs in the vegetable, fruit, and spice industry, as well as their suppliers, to apply and achieve compliance with BRC standards. Simultaneously, KNA CERT is supporting 8 businesses in implementing procedures and completing documentation to obtain BRC certification.
